Cooperationen
There is a close cooperation with the Technische Universitaet Berlin. The scientific coordination is located at the Centre for innovative health technology. Activities of Berlin Myocardial Infarction Registry
We annually distribute our evaluations of the data collected among the hospitals involved in the urvey. These evaluations comprise a comparison of the treatment in the respective hospital as read against the overall average of all the hospitals partaking. Thus our work contributes to establishing standards of quality within the realm of health provision for the population.
On a yearly basis we have organized a symposium to present the evaluations of the data of all hospitals involved in the survey and thus creating a platform for discussion among the physicians.
The Berlin Myocardial Infarction Registry produces papers for the Berlin Annual Report on Health Provisioning (commissioned by the Senate for Health and Social Affairs; i.e. the governmental department responsible for health in the federal state of Berlin) which can be used both by the Senate for Health and Social Affairs and the public to provide basic data and information regarding the specific situation of Berlin patients suffering from myocardial infarction.
A working group »Analysis of data« was founded to produce papers and publications for the different scientific conferences and journals (the publications can be viewed under www.herzinfarktregister.de and in the list of publications at the end of this presentation).
The emphasis lies on the following areas of interest:
1. Treatment and outcomes of women compared to men suffering from myocardial infarction
2. Guideline based therapy (reperfusion and concomitant therapy)
3. Treatment of elderly patients (> 75 years) suffering from Acute Myocardial Infarction
4. Comparing data from four regionally focused registries in Europe (Berlin, Dijon, Florenz, Tartu)
5. Diabetes mellitus, gender and myocardial infarction
6. Changes in treatment in the course of time
